Our Story
The history of MARZ S.C. starts in the 1950s in Hazelwood, Pittsburgh, PA. In the midst of a bustling city where steel mills, trolley cars, and bridges were all around, the Brim’s Bakery could be found nestled in the heart of Second Avenue.
The bakery, founded by Francis, Robert, and Frank Brim, was notorious for having the best baked goods in town, with their white cookies being a favorite treat in many homes.
The Brim’s catered to and served their community in more ways than one. They were known for being kind and generous people. One of the ways they used the bakery to help their community was by frequently providing free baked goods to the local children in need. While starting and maintaining a family bakery might seem an easy task, it proved to be a challenging one for the Brims. However, the Brim’s were grateful to have hardworking members on their team, who made what they did possible every day.
Starting MARZ S.C. wasn’t only about a passion for baking passed down through generations past, it was about continuing a legacy of showing up for a community with integrity, hard work, and love. We are proud of our rich history and strive to bring honor to the original Brim’s Bakery by consistently providing high quality baked goods to our community.
